Moveon.org issued a warning Tuesday to any Democrat who might join Republicans to filibuster a government-run insurance option — if you oppose the government option you will lose support from the organization’s 5 million members

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Monday that the Senate’s version of a health care reform bill will include a so-called public option. Moveon.org issued its e-mail to its supporters threatening revolt one day later.

The group said it surveyed its members over the weekend and found that “93 percent of MoveOn members agreed that any senator who helps block an up-or-down vote on a health care bill with the public option should lose the support of all five million of us — no donations, no volunteering, and no help getting out the vote.”

To ensure conservative Democrats will not oppose the public option, the group is launching an “emergency campaign” to urge them to support an up-or-down vote.

Despite its support, the group added that Reid’s bill is still problematic.

“The ‘opt-out’ version of the public option has real problems,” the e-mail said, adding that “the most conservative states in the country would likely opt out, potentially leaving millions of uninsured folks without access to the affordable health care a public option would provide.”

A divided party: Progressives threaten Democratic lawmakers

MoveOn.org is sending out emails today seeking more contributions for its campaign to defeat any Democratic senator who does not fully  support Obamacare. Yesterday the left-wing activist group asked members to contribute “to a primary challenge against any Democratic senator who helps Republicans block an up-or-down vote on health care reform.” Today, MoveOn reports that it has received $2 million in pledges in less than 24 hours. “It’s a clear sign of how angry progressives would be at any Democrat who helps filibuster reform,” MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben writes in the new email.

“The larger the war chest we can offer a potential challenger, the stronger the signal we’ll send to conservative Democrats,” Ruben continues. “So we’re setting a huge new goal: $3 million in total pledges by the end of the week. That’s plenty to launch a serious primary challenge.”

MoveOn is already planning radio ads targeting Louisiana Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu and Arkansas Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln over the health care issue.

• Often dates or marries women with children that are the age of his preferred victims.
• Rarely forces or coerces a child into sexual contact. Usually through trust and friendship. Physical contact is gradual, from touching, to picking up, to holding on lap, to kissing, etc.
• Derives gratification in a number of ways. For some, looking is enough. For others, taking pictures or watching children undress is enough. Still others require more contact.
• Finds different ways and places to be alone with children.
• Are primarily (but not always) male, masculine, better-educated, more religious than average, in their thirties, and choose jobs allowing them greater access to children.
• Are usually family men, have no criminal record, and deny that they abuse children, even after caught, convicted, incarcerated, and court-ordered into a sex offender program. The marriage is often troubled by sexual dysfunction, and serves as a smokescreen for the pedophile’s true preferences and practices.

Knowing the profile of a pedophile, does this mean that the little league coach who has a great rapport with kids and treats them to pizza at his house is suspect? Or that the teacher who throws pool parties is? Of course not. The majority of people who like and work with children are not pedophiles. It does mean that we should be observant of all the adults in our children’s lives, whether they wear a white collar, a blue collar, or a clerical collar.

If a child tells us he or she has been sexually abused by someone, be it family, friend, or trusted adult, we are obligated by law to report it to a child abuse hotline, police, or local children’s services agency.

• Attempting to takeover healthcare when every social program they touch has FAILED or is failing and bankrupt; research healthcare for Native American’s for a future look see to what we’ll get IF this is rammed thru!!

• Gun control/restriction is on the highest levels ever seen in this country, taking more and more state rights away from local governments; You don’t want guns in Chicago, FINE if that city and state want them removed, but DON’T restrict those of us that don’t have that problem in other states or cities! The BIG Lie:Reconstruction of the Democractic Party

How INTERESTING that baby Barack and his Socialist Workers Party aka Democrat Party, now claim to be the party of the minority, when history tells a different story.

My family were Democrats. Not sure if it was  by ‘choice’  or due in part  to geographical location and/or the Reconstruction of the South.

I don’t recall any memories of ’slave ownership”, but I do remember the anger at the carpet-beggars/ THIEVES that came in and took land and possessions from most returning from the war.

Under the dictates of the Radical Republicans, the US Congress passed the punitive Reconstruction Act of 1867 over Pres. Andrew Johnson’s veto and the prior wishes of  Pres. Lincoln.

This act sought to rebuild the governments of the Southern states into the Northern mold and ensure the civil rights of the freed blacks. The members of the existing state governments in the South, made up of the leaders of the Confederacy, were removed, and the states were place under the military rule of the US Army. No one who had supported the Confederate government was allowed to vote or hold political office. As a result, the states were controlled by scalawags and carpetbaggers and the military rulers of the Radical Republican Congress.

Some 200,000 US soldiers were stationed throughout the South to preserve order and carry out the dictates of Congress. These military commanders had virtually unlimited power. What is seldom discussed is that the war in the South did not end after 4 years and the signing of surrender by Gen. Robert E. Lee, but lasted another 10 years!! Some of it I’m sure was due to those that would not follow anti-slavery laws, but in most cases, it was the average NON-slave owner, just folks trying to move forward, provide a living and shelter,  for their families that were hurt from these unscrupulous Radicals.  And such was their life, until 1877, when Rutherford B. Hayes agreed to return the states to home rule in exchange for Southern support in his bid for the presidency.

It is from this ancestry that memories were passed down to me and from this that I find my Southern Pride.  Not from the horrible injustice of slavery, but from ancestors that not only survived the Civil War, but also the years of horror and hardship that came after. (Note: I had ancestors that served in the Northern army and also the South, as many did during that era.)

Swayze: Kindred spirit

Patrick Swayze and Tammen

My heart aches for his mom and wife Lisa.

Patrick was an inspiration to so many. His movie Tiger Warsaw was truly one of his best IMO….and his performance in the mini-series North and South as Ory Main, was outstanding.

As I saw it, Patrick always conveyed his “gentleman, yet rugged” nature in the characters he portrayed.

My video collection includes Roadhouse, Next of Kin, Red Dawn were other personal favorites and Dirty Dancing—WOW—hubba, hubba…. could that Texan dance!!!! And sing too!! I love the song She’s Like the Wind!! Absolutely beautiful.

Furthermore, his love of the Arabian Horse Breed is shared by this fellow Texan and understood on a personal level.

I am unable to state his loss better than the following quote from the ArabHorse.com site listed below, written  by Beth Hunziker.

H1N1: The Trail of Tears Revisited?

Some may read this post and think that I am just paranoid or a conspiracy theorist,  However, as a person that was orphaned at age 16 because her father died in January 1977 from complications –GBS– due to the Swine Flu vaccine given to him in the fall of 1976, I have reason to be concerned.

How many of you have considered, in the RUSH to meet this so-called “Pandemic” face on,  where are those in the MEDIA that demand to know, what is in this injection and EXACTLY what are the possible side-effects?

Who will be accountable if more than the CDC “Quota of acceptable Risks” exceeds their projections?

WHY has Oklahoma been ‘chosen’ as one of the “Test Subjects” for this so-called UNTESTED vaccine and WHY so many CHILDREN?

Considering Oklahoma has the 2nd largest Native American Population per the 2000 census, call me PARANOID when I can see history repeating itself and I consider this “Testing” as nothing but another Trail of Tears in the making!!!!!

If indeed this “Vaccine” contains Sterilization properties and Bioweapon toxins, what ELSE can one think??

“In one of the saddest episodes of our brief history, men, women, and children were taken from their land, herded into makeshift forts with minimal facilities and food, then forced to march a thousand miles(Some made part of the trip by boat in equally horrible conditions). Under the generally indifferent army commanders, human losses for the first groups of Cherokee removed were extremely high. John Ross made an urgent appeal to Scott, requesting that the general let his people lead the tribe west. General Scott agreed. Ross organized the Cherokee into smaller groups and let them move separately through the wilderness so they could forage for food. Although the parties under Ross left in early fall and arrived in Oklahoma during the brutal winter of 1838-39, he significantly reduced the loss of life among his people. About 4000 Cherokee died as a result of the removal. Forcing Americans to pay for Public Option is NOT a solution to our health care problems. Government is NOT the answer, they have been, and still are THE PROBLEM!! Saddam Hussein refuses to give up weapons of mass destruction as required by U.N. resolutions.

Hours earlier, the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133.

The president praised the congressional action, declaring “America speaks with one voice.”

“The Congress has spoken clearly to the international community and the United Nations Security Council,” Bush said in a statement. “Saddam Hussein and his outlaw regime pose a grave threat to the region, the world and the United States. Inaction is not an option, disarmament is a must.”

While the outcome of the vote was never in doubt, its passage followed several days of spirited debate in which a small but vocal group of lawmakers charged the resolution was too broad and premature.

The resolution requires Bush to declare to Congress either before or within 48 hours after beginning military action that diplomatic efforts to enforce the U.N. resolutions have failed.

Bush also must certify that action against Iraq would not hinder efforts to pursue the al Qaeda terrorist network that attacked New York and Washington last year. And it requires the administration to report to Congress on the progress of any war with Iraq every 60 days.

The measure passed the Senate and House by wider margins than the 1991 resolution that empowered the current president’s father to go to war to expel Iraq from Kuwait. That measure passed 250-183 in the House and 52-47 in the Senate.

The Bush administration and its supporters in Congress say Saddam has kept a stockpile of chemical and biological weapons in violation of U.N. resolutions and has continued efforts to develop nuclear weapons. Bush also has argued that Iraq could give chemical or biological weapons to terrorists.

Iraq has denied having weapons of mass destruction and has offered to allow U.N. weapons inspectors to return for the first time since 1998. Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Tawab Al-Mulah Huwaish called the allegations “lies” Thursday and offered to let U.S. officials inspect plants they say are developing nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.

“If the American administration is interested in inspecting these sites, then they’re welcome to come over and have a look for themselves,” he said.

The White House immediately rejected the offer, saying the matter is up to the United Nations, not Iraq…..

Senate approves $91 billion for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

By a margin of 86-3, the US Senate voted late last Thursday to approve a $91.3 billion supplemental funding bill to finance the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through September 30. The bill, which is expected to go to President Obama to sign within two weeks, brings the total expended on the two wars of aggression to more than $900 billion over eight years.

Democratic Senate candidates postured as opponents of the war in Iraq in both the 2006 and 2008 elections, and an antiwar appeal was critical to candidate Obama winning the Democratic presidential nomination and then the presidency last year. But the Senate Democrats provided near-unanimous support to the new war spending sought by the new Democrat in the White House.

Of the 59 members of the Democratic caucus in the Senate (including two independents), only two voted against the supplemental appropriations bill. Voting for more war funding were such liberals as John Kerry of Massachusetts, Patrick Leahy of Vermont, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Tom Harkin of Iowa and Barbara Boxer of California. The Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Majority Whip Dick Durbin backed the legislation as well.

The senators appointed to take the seats of Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton all voted for the war funding.

The last hurdle before passage of the bill was the defeat of an amendment offered by ultra-right South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint opposing additional US funding for the International Monetary Fund. The vote was 64-30 against, on a largely party-line vote. In a demagogic attempt to blame an external scapegoat for the financial crisis caused by Wall Street, DeMint declared, “This is the worst time to ask struggling American families to bail out foreign countries.”

The IMF funding, using $5 billion in US Treasury funds to underwrite $108 billion in new lending authority, is the only major difference between the Senate bill and the version passed by House of Representatives on May 14. A House-Senate conference committee will begin meeting in early June to prepare the final bill for Obama’s signature.

Several leading House Democrats, most notably Appropriations Committee chairman David Obey of Wisconsin, have voiced opposition to the IMF funding on the grounds of economic nationalism. Two Senate liberals, Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and Bernard Sanders of Vermont, voted for the DeMint amendment on the same basis.

Several reactionary amendments were added to the supplemental legislation in the last few days. On Wednesday, the Senate adopted, by overwhelming 92-3 and 90-6 votes, amendments that would prohibit the spending of money to close the Guantanamo detention camp or to transfer Guantanamo detainees to the United States.
