Color of Corruption v Culture of Corruption

Lisa’s rant for the day:

How party TYPICAL to blame everything on the other side, instead of dealing with the REALITY! Corruption is in BOTH parties and BOTH are to BLAME for this Culture of Corruption. Stop the party blaming and the ‘swamp clearing’, it’s  time to get REAL! Deal with this lack of ethics as it should be dealt with, based on the INDIVIDUAL!

Stop the race baiting, the sexist baiting, party blaming, anti-semitic blaming….No color or sex….just the one doing the crime! It’s past time to CLEAN HOUSE!

ANY elected government official, regardless of PARTY, Race, Sex,  who does NOT follow the ETHICS stated below, or who does any of the offenses stated therein, are committing a CRIME against the people and have broken their PROMISE to uphold this code.

My questions to HRH Speaker Pelosi since HER definition of Ethics and that of the majority serving our nation today, starting with #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7, #8, #9, #10,  do not seem to follow that outlined below but more the Communist Party agenda, are:

  • WHAT Code are you referring to?

  • May we have a copy of it?

  • Who’s agenda are you following?

  • What part of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights do you EVER refer to when you open your mouth?

Lenin’s ideal vanguard party would be one where membership is completely open:

“The members of the Party are they who accept the principles of the Party programme and render the Party all possible support. This party could, in theory, be completely transparent: the “entire political arena is as open to the public view as is a theater stage to the audience.”

A party that supposedly implemented democracy to such an extent that “the general control (in the literal sense of the term) exercised over every act of a party man in the political field brings into existence an automatically operating mechanism which produces what in biology is called the “survival of the fittest”.” This party would be completely open to the public eye as it conducted its business which would mainly consist of educating the proletariat to remove the false consciousness that had been instilled in them….

Code of Ethics for U.S. Government Service

Adopted July 11, 1958

Resolved by the House of Representatives {the Senate concurring}, That it is the sense of the Congress that the following Code of Ethics should be adhered to by all Government employees, including officeholders.

Any person in Government service should:

1. Put loyalty to the highest moral principals and to country above loyalty to Government persons, party, or department.

2. Uphold the Constitution, laws, and legal regulations of the United States and of all governments therein and never be a party to their evasion.

3. Give a full day’s labor for a full day’s pay; giving to the performance of his duties his earnest effort and best thought.

4. Seek to find and employ more efficient and economical ways of getting tasks accomplished.

5. Never discriminate unfairly by the dispensing of special favors or privileges to anyone, whether for remuneration or not; and never accept for himself or his family, favors or benefits under circumstances which might be construed by reasonable persons as influencing the performance of his governmental duties.

6. Make no private promises of any kind binding upon the duties of office, since a Government employee has no private word which can be binding on public duty.

7. Engage in no business with the Government, either directly or indirectly which is inconsistent with the conscientious performance of his governmental duties.

8. Never use any information coming to him confidentially in the performance of governmental duties as a means for making private profit.

9. Expose corruption wherever discovered.

10. Uphold these principles, ever conscious that public office is a public trust.

Maxine Waters turn to Quack! Quack! Quack!

WASHINGTON – California Democrat Maxine Waters faces a House trial this fall on three charges of ethical wrongdoing.

The charges focus on whether Waters broke the rules in requesting federal help for a bank where her husband owned stock. She denied the charges Monday.

Persons familiar with the case said Waters is accused of violating: a rule that House members may not exert improper influence that results in a personal benefit; also, the government employees ethics code, which prohibits granting or accepting special favors for the employee or family members that could be viewed as influencing official actions; and a rule that member conduct must reflect creditably on the House.

Wonder if Waters goose is now cooked? lol….quack..quack…quack

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.” “A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.”

“From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

  1. The very term “EARMARKS”, Special Interest Groups, CONTRIBUTIONS, reeks of nothing but absolute FULL BLOWN CORRUPTION!

Also IMO–what needs to happen is go in with the goal of creating a scale of corruption, say those who took the least amount of dollars for earmarks/or contributions from special interest groups, and start from that point, weeding out ALL who were above that scale.
Then tell those of the least corruption, that THIS is their ONLY warning to ship up or ship out as the others just weeded out.

They “gift” themselves earmarks in order to SWAY votes! What the hell is that if NOT an ethic violation?????

  2. It’s amazing how those corrupted ones, use every way possible to maintain their ill gotten power.

If they are not following the very first thing they swore to do, how could they be doing their job? They are not, thus need to be FIRED! And held responsible for the crimes they have committed in those offices.
Maxine Waters is a shining example of ‘Not understanding that she has done anything wrong”
Big hateful mouthed Pelosi in my opinion, has broken everyone of them except maybe #6…..EGADS—just stupid or complicit? Who knows or cares, it all goes back to the Code of Ethics.

  3. Mayberry,USA, Opie and Aunt Bea would be SHOCKED!!
Now to be fair to Barney, he was a really good hearted type, just not running on all thrusters…lol A few bricks short of a full load? lol
And the video below really brings to light the majority of morons in the house and congress and who they really are today…. Most have no clue to what they were hired aka elected to do.
If they do not know our founding documents by heart, yet swore to uphold those things, and yet do not think they are doing anything wrong, because Joe Cool is doing it or say That’s the way its always been done, then They falsely see themselves as being diligent in their duties by following the status quo of corruption.

Like my dad used to say, If someone told you to walk off a cliff, would you follow them?

  4. Are these people SO CORRUPT, they do not even realize they are BREAKING the very law or Code they swore to uphold?

Did they NOT READ it and just sign the documents like they do when passing huge 2000 page bills that they don’t read either? Or do they simply disregard it and LIVE by another set of standards that the American Public does NOT know about?

Makes sense now when we see what is happening today and WHY so many REAL Patriotic American’s are angry with BOTH parties.

Pelosi Insists ‘Swamp’ is Drained Despite Two High-Profile Ethics Cases

    Published August 03, 2010

    | Associated Press

Democratic congressional leaders say they’ve emptied the swamp of congressional corruption. Never mind the ethics trials to come for two longtime party members.

“Drain the swamp we did, because this was a terrible place,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi said last week of the Republican rule in the House that ended in January 2007.

Pelosi’s statement might seem odd, but it’s an emerging strategy: Separate Democratic-initiated ethics reforms from the cases of Reps. Charles Rangel of New York and Maxine Waters of California.

Pelosi needs a strategy because Republicans have been adept at jumping on the troubles of Rangel, the former chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, and Waters, a senior member of the Financial Services Committee.

Republican news releases going to states and districts with close congressional races demand that Democratic candidates give up money donated by Rangel and Waters.

The House Republican campaign committee immediately issued a statement after the ethics committee announced charges against Waters on Monday. Its headline: “The Dirty Details: Ethics Office Reveals Waters Charges. Panel Has ‘Substantial Reason to Believe’ Dems Have Another Ethics Problem on Their Hands.”

Waters faces three charges for requesting federal help for a bank where her husband owned stock and had served on the board of directors.

Waters fought back, in a written statement that said, “No benefit, no improper action, no failure to disclose, no one influenced: no case.”

The charges against Rangel included failing to disclose assets and income, delayed payment of federal taxes and improper use of a subsidized New York apartment for his campaign office.

Republicans love to throw back at Pelosi her “drain the swamp” promise of four years ago, when Democrats used the issue to help capture control of the House of Representatives.

“The swamp was described in the press as a ‘criminal syndicate’ operating out of the Republican leader’s office,” she said last week in defining the phrase.

Pelosi said House Democrats have implemented “the toughest ethics reform in a generation” through “landmark legislation requiring unprecedented level of disclosure.”

“Are there going to be individual issues to be dealt with? Yes. I never said that there wouldn’t be,” Pelosi said. “But we would have a process to deal with it.”

People familiar with the Waters investigation, who were not authorized to be quoted on charges not yet made public, said Waters is accused of violating:

–A rule that House members may not exert improper influence that results in a personal benefit.

–The government employees’ ethics code, which prohibits granting or accepting special favors, for the employee or family members, that could be viewed as influencing official actions.

–A rule that members’ conduct must reflect creditably on the House.

The charges against Waters were filed July 28 by a four-member investigative panel and announced Monday without any details. An eight-member subcommittee of four Democrats and four Republicans will now conduct the Waters trial. The specifics of the allegations won’t be made public until the panel — four Democrats and four Republicans — hold its still-unscheduled organizational meeting.

Waters said in her statement: “I have not violated any House rules. Therefore, I simply will not be forced to admit to something I did not do and instead have chosen to respond to charges made by the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct in a public hearing.”
